السلام عليكم

Hello and welcome to my personal page!

I am a PhD student at ETH Zurich with a passion for Game Theory & Control Theory, and the fascinating intersection between the two. Automation is no longer contained to the factory floor; it is making decisions on who gets to work on time (traffic control), when to charge who's EV (energy control), or who gets to see what posts (recommender systems). I am working towards embedding the social aspect into the next generation of control systems. How can we design these systems in a manner that respect individuals' private and heterogeneous needs, in a fair and efficient manner? On this quest, I have been working to bridge the gap between engineering and economics and incorporate lessons from Welfare Economics & Social Choice Theory into control design.

Short bio

Since October 2020, I am a PhD student under the supervision of Florian Dörfler and Emilio Frazzoli at ETH Zürich. My PhD is funded by the Swiss National Centre of Competence in Research (NCCR) Automation. I received the B.A Sc. in Mechatronics Engineering at the University of Waterloo in June 2014, and the M.Sc. in Robotics, Systems & Control at ETH Zürich in May 2020, for which I was awarded the ETH Silver Medal. From 2014-2018, I held various control engineering positions at process automation and lifting equipment companies. See my full CV here.
